Survey shows more awareness of health issues A study by research group Mintel says that 52 percent of Americans say they are paying attention to the amount of salt in their diet , but in reality that doesn’t meant much. While 22 percent of those surveyed said they’re paying more attention to the amount of salt they’re putting on food, those same people said they aren’t trying to cut salt from processed and packaged foods and beverages, which in reality is where most of our salt comes from.
